Colloquial Levantine

We designed the curriculum carefully selected the instructional materials, aiming to increase the student’s cultural awareness.
Verbal or spoken communication depends entirely on these two skills, Thus, our lessons and exercises are mainly focused on developing learners’ listening comprehension performance, and promoting a meaningful oral ability in learners through the Task-Based Learning Approach.
One of our teaching objectives is to focus on developing learners’ ability to communicate effectively by teaching them nonverbal communication and body language alongside verbal communication.

 

 

Colloquial Levantine Arabic 101

In this course, you will gain the needed language to conduct basic oral communication know statements, questions, and responses and briefly explain and justify opinions in informal discussions on familiar topics.

The curriculum, contains 12 units based on a story. Each unit contains vocabulary lists (on the Quizlet Website to help the student memorize them), audio lessons, a reading lesson, grammar lessons (video), a culture lesson (video), podcasts, and Speaking tasks.

Colloquial Levantine Arabic 102

In this course, you will be able to communicate more effectively and conduct conversations on a variety of social and cultural topics. You will also be able to demonstrate the best body language and tone for different cultural settings.

Selected authentic materials, clips from local soap operas with their scripts, as well as folk songs to teach common phrases and idioms. Exercises are based on the selected materials.

Colloquial Levantine Arabic 201

In this course, you will learn language patterns of Colloquial Levantine Arabic cultural context through TV drama series and practice them in social conversations. You will also be able to create in-depth discussions and offer supportive arguments on social issues.

Colloquial Levantine Arabic 202

You will be able to profoundly debate on local and global issues and greatly acquire a deeper understanding of the humor of Arabic-speaking cultures including jokes, verbal irony, and sarcasm through clips from Pop culture TV shows. The integrated syllabus which is predominantly skills-based, with culture components, provides insights into the Arabic language and culture.

Selected clips from local TV programs cover a variety of topics in different aspects. The focus in this course is on developing the learners’ ability in expressing ideas and developing argument skills. The exercises in this course are designed to enhance learners’ discussions skills.
